The language used is easy to understand and the reader comes away with an excellent alternative to which drugs are overly prescribed and how to use other methods of healing. 9. “Mayo Clinic Book of Alternative Medicine: The New Approach to Using the Best of Natural Therapies and Conventional Medicine” by the Mayo Clinic covers a wide range of alternative medicine approaches from acupuncture and reiki to herbal healing. It is rather simplistic in its writing however, often making the reader (at least in my case) feel as though they were being talked down to. I still liked the book however because the information was good. This book was published in 2007 and sells for $24.95 at www.barnesandnoble.com.
8. “Alternative Medicine”by Claire Wallerstein is a power packed 56 pages of information on what alternative medicine really is. It doesn't list a lot of specifics; however it is a great book for beginners that don't know much about alternative methods of healing. 7. “Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine, Revised Second Edition” by Michael Murray and Joseph Pizzorno provide readers with different methods of how to battle more than 70 diseases. This is an excellent book for both the novice and more experienced natural healing persons. This book was published in 1998 and sells for $25.95 at www.barnesandnoble.com .
6. “You Can Heal Your Life”, by Louise Hay has been featured on Oprah Winfrey. This is a terrific book, written in layman terms for anyone that wants to get rid of all the pharmaceuticals they are taking, as well as non-prescription drugs. 2. “The Biblical Guide to Alternative Medicine” by Neil T. Anderson and Michael Jacobson takes a biblical and Christian view of alternative medicine and healing. I highly recommend this book to all who seek alternative methods of healing. It is 320 pages with biblical reference to healing the natural way. It is full of great information for everything from burns to hemorrhoids. It is comprehensive and easy to understand and follow. This book is a must for anyone seeking alternatives to conventional medicine. This books was published in 2007 and sells for $22.99 at www.barnesandnoble.com.
There are so many books about holistic, naturopathy, and alternative medicine on the market, it is difficult to choose and the choices can seem overwhelming. There are books that are specific to certain illnesses, such as cancer and bi-polar disorder as well.
